• GG01

Gardon Gauge Water-Cooled High Heat Flux Sensor

GG01 is a water-cooled sensor that measures heat flux. The Gardon gauge sensor is based on copper and copper alloys, and works at heat flux levels at which other sensors get toasted. Optionally GG01 can be equipped with a sapphire window; to measure radiative heat flux only, and not convective heat flux. GG01 has an on-board thermocouple type K and is available with various dedicated measurement ranges.
    • Withstands very high heat fluxes
    • Fast response time
    • Equipped with type K thermocouple to measure body temperature
    • Suitable for use in high vacuum
    • Safe storage with a practical protection cap
  • HFP01

    Heat Flux Plate

HFP01 is the world’s most popular sensor for heat flux measurement in the soil as well as through walls and building envelopes. The total thermal resistance is kept small by using a ceramics-plastic composite body. The sensor is very robust and stable. It is suitable for long term use on one location as well as repeated installation when a measuring system is used at multiple locations. If measuring in soil, in case a more accurate measurement is needed the model HFP01SC should be considered.

    • Low thermal resistance (essential for use on walls and windows)
    • Large guard area (required by the ISO 9869 standard)
    • Low electrical resistance (low pickup of electrical noise)
    • High sensitivity (good signal to noise ratio in low-flux environments such as buildings)
    • Robustness, including a strong cable
    • IP protection class: IP67 (essential for outdoor application)
  • HFP01SC

    Self-Calibrating Heat Flux Sensor

HFP01SC self-calibrating heat flux sensor™ is a heat flux sensor for use in the soil. It offers the best available accuracy and quality assurance of the measurement. The on-line self-test verifies the stable performance and good thermal contact of sensors that are buried and cannot be visually inspected and taken to the laboratory for recalibration. The self-test also includes self-calibration which compensates for measurement errors caused by the thermal conductivity of the surrounding soil (which varies with soil moisture content), for sensor non-stability and for temperature dependence.

    • Low thermal resistance
    • Large guard area (required by the ISO 9869 standard)
    • Low electrical resistance (low pickup of electrical noise)
    • High sensitivity (good signal to noise ratio in low-flux environments)
    • Robustness, including a strong cable (essential for permanently installed sensors)
    • IP protection class: IP67 (essential for outdoor application)
    • Incorporated film heater for self-testing
  • HFS01

High Heat Flux Sensor for Concentrated Solar Radiation and Flames, Water Cooled

HFS01 is a water-cooled sensor that measures high-level radiative and convective heat fluxes. It is designed for studies of concentrated solar irradiance (800 x concentrated direct solar radiation) and high-intensity flames (gas burners, coal fires). HFS01 has a very robust all-metal / ceramics instrument body and sensor, and is equipped with a high-temperature cable to survive the extreme conditions of a typical experiment.
    • Robust all-stainless steel body
    • High-temperature signal cable
    • Signal wires electrically insulated from the sensor body and from cooling water
  • SBG01

    Water Cooled Heat Flux Sensor

SBG01 is a water-cooled sensor that measures heat flux. The ISO standards call this a heat flux meter. Introduced in 2008, SBG01 has rapidly become the sensor of choice for fire testing. SBG01 is mainly used to test reaction to fire and fire resistance. It is also used as a calibration reference standard for test equipment, for example in flammability and smoke chamber tests. SBG01 complies with the requirements of the most common ASTM and ISO standard test methods.
    • Robust and serviceable water tubes
    • Scratch resistant absorber coating (slightly lowered surface)
    • Safe storage with a practical protection cap
    • Durable cable with strain relief, temperature resistant up to 200 °C
  • TP01

    Thermal Properties Sensor

TP01 is the leading sensor for long-term monitoring of soil thermal conductivity. A measurement with TP01 may also be used to estimate soil thermal diffusivity and volumic heat capacity, leading to a better understanding of dynamic (variable heat flux) thermal behaviour of soils. TP01 is designed for long-term use at one measurement location. Applied in meteorological surface flux measurement systems, TP01 improves the estimates of heat transport in the soil and of the so-called storage term.
    • Leading sensor for long-term monitoring of soil thermal conductivity
    • Long-term use at one measurement location
    • Record breaking sensitivity
